New website

We haven't posted on our blog for some weeks now....... but there is a very good reason! We are in the process of creating a new website. which will be live very soon! We are so excited as it will be quite different to our current website - it will include a blog and links to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Black & White

We love black & white schemes and have just taken delivery of these beautiful Designers Guild cushions for a very lucky client. We have displayed them here on our vintage sofa in Christian Lacroix with 2 new items - a Moroccan side table and a silver mirror. There is more stock arriving weekly which we will post here over the coming weeks.

Love Easter! 4 days off! Kids on school holidays and we are heading down to the South Coast - so excited!

Sale continued

Our SALE day was fantastic! The store was full of people by 9.15am! Lots of happy customers....... Lots of floorstock was sold but we still have many great pieces left. See the photos above for what we have left...... (some pieces have since sold from when we took the photos)

There were many clients who said that they weren't able to make it on the one day only so we have decided to extend the SALE to after Easter. So Friday 13th April will be the last day to grab a bargain!

Loving pendant lights! We have recently installed a couple of very large pendant lights in 2 different client's homes on the Coast. They are absolutely stunning!

New DG Essentials

The latest Essentials from Designers Guild come in the form of tickings and a plain polyester drapery. We are loving these tickings which are a spin on the originals.

This has to be my favourite striped fabric at the moment. It's a heavy weight cotton and the colours are sublime. A perfect combination of grey, tobacco, taupe, off white and of course aqua. Teamed here with the new Aviano polyester drapery and a couple of bone pieces.

Mod Farm Houses

We love good architecture and these homes sure are inspirational. Not only are the buildings beautiful, but they sit perfectly in their surroundings. All of these designs could look great in the hinterlands surrounding the coast

This extension seems to float on the water. You probably couldn't build this in Australia without a lot of barriers at the building edges. We can only imagine the sense of serenity sitting in the end room.

This room is a fantastic blank canvas waiting for all the trimmings. We'd love to get creative in this space! A great design borrowing from traditional methods with the shingled walls juxtaposed with contemporary details such as the frame of the large opening which looks to be stainless steel - wow!

Almost folly-like this building springs proud up out of the ground. You can definitely see the reference to classic country homes here.

What a fantastic statement! A modern sculptural effort has been softened with timber that has been left to go grey. Such a success!

More DG Unlimited

Designers Guild have produced a great usable collection of polyester/cotton stripes that are spot on for our severe Australian conditions. 

Fleuve brings us designs that are usually reserved for silks and silk rich fabrics which are stunning, but aren't always practical here. These vibrant taffetas and sheers will add some dash and glamour to any room.

With colours ranging from Heather to Fuchsia, Lemongrass to Lime, Pebble to Ecru and Lapis to Celadon there is something for every taste. We're looking forward to splashing this collection about!

We have just started to receive the latest collections from Designers Guild.

The blues are vibrant as well as moody like the Corales design in Indigo. The base cloth is wonderfully heavy and ideal for upholstery. I'd love to see this on a sofa with lots of natural textures like seagrass and water Hyacinth. Perfect for our coastal location

The neutrals are fabulous too, ranging from subtle beiges through to rich tobacco's. We're looking forward to working with these great fabrics from one of our favourite suppliers.

Spacecraft artworks

We love Stewart Russell's ever changing offerings from his Spacecraft studio. Here are 3 samples of his latest backing cloth artworks. 

We love Stewart's bold use of colour and the graphic detail achieved. Of course he doesn't know how each piece will look when finished as these artworks are the result of months of other products being screen printed on top. When the backing cloths appear to be 'full' they are carefully removed and framed. 

Each artwork is signed and dated showing when the artwork started as a backing cloth & finally graduated as a work of art.

This is the latest design from the Botanical series called Pale Gum. This range is designed with a little more certainty in the outcome although each piece is definitely individual. A beautiful addition to the collection.
